By now, most of us have realized that a home business is, in reality, a business . There is no “Instant Success Formula” . Success takes hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. The key word here is “sacrifice”. This means giving up your time, and in some cases your money, in the pursuit of building your dream. The problem is that many of us don’t know when to draw the line when it comes to sacrificing for our business.

When one first starts a business, they are eager for results . They will do whatever it takes to see these results come to fruition. They may spend 10 hours a day at their computer, posting ads and writing articles. They may spend hundreds of dollars on programs that promise the moon. But, unless you spend thousands of dollars, and happen to strike gold with your program, you will still need to work hard to see results.

The trick is to spread your home business resources out. What you spend in time, should save you money, and vice versa. Those who neglect this, and continue to use all their resources at once, will end up burned out, broke, and failing.

Let me give you a basic example. Let’s say email marketing is a method you choose to promote your program . You could spend hours upon hours emailing would-be customers, hoping that one or two will buy your product. Or you could sign up for an autoresponder service, pay a fee each month, and have all your would-be customers emails sent automatically. Spend money, but save time.

Here is one more example. Let’s say you use article submission as a home business resourcesto build backlinks to your business website. There are many, many services available that offer article submission services. So, you pay $50 (for example) to have a company submit articles on your behalf. But here’s the problem. That company is also submitting articles for hundreds of other business owners. So the chances that you will have a unique article are slim, resulting in fewer backlinks (There are services that will write unique articles, and submit them for you, but the cost can be astronomical). So instead, you submit your own articles. Write 3-4 articles a week, choose a couple of high page rank submission websites, and BOOM! Quality backlinks like you never imagined. In this way, you may sacrifice some of your time, but you save money.

Those who do very well with their home business know how to take this to the next level. Not only do they know how to split up their resources, but they know how to use up as little as possible. They shop around for a required service , making sure they get the best product for the best price. They don’t waste time on the small things, things that may or may not have an impact on their business.

To sum up, don’t rush into anything, hoping for instant glory. Don’t drop $97 because someone promises to triple that amount in two days. Don’t spend hours upon hours on your business, hoping that in the next 5 minutes your sales will double. Learn from the masters. Spread yourself thin, but not too thin. Spend only what you have to on home business resources, that goes for time and money, and you and your home business will reap the rewards.
